🔒 Security & Data
This app is built on ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript — the same mapping engine that powers Experience Builder. Your data never leaves ArcGIS Online. Authentication uses Esri's OAuth flow (same security as EB). GitHub Pages serves only the HTML/CSS/JS — it has zero access to your AGOL data. The browser fetches data directly from Esri's servers after you authenticate. Anyone who opens this app still needs a valid Red Cross AGOL credential to see anything.
Performance: This app uses lazy loading — data layers are only fetched from Esri's servers when you turn them on. With 50+ layers in the map, this means startup loads only what's visible by default, rather than firing 50 simultaneous service requests. Turning a layer off releases its memory. This is a key advantage of the SDK over Experience Builder, which loads all layers on startup regardless of visibility.
